We develop embedded solutions for products that need to sense, process, communicate or control.
This can range from battery-powered wireless sensors to connected controllers and intelligent equipment. Depending on the product, we can integrate sensors, local processing, wireless connectivity, power management and remote firmware updates.
Not every product or machine needs to be redesigned to become connected.
Kaira can provide gateway and edge solutions that connect existing equipment, sensors and industrial systems to remote services. The gateway can handle communication, protocol integration, local processing and secure connectivity while allowing the existing equipment to continue doing what it was intended for.
Connected products share many of the same engineering challenges: establishing reliable communication, managing secure credentials, supporting post-deployment updates, and integrating devices and gateways.

For each project, we use the building blocks that fit and focus our engineering effort on the customer’s unique requirements.
Kaira brings intelligence across embedded devices, gateways and cloud services, placing processing and decision making where they fit best.
On embedded devices, lightweight machine learning models can recognize patterns and detect events directly from sensor data. Kaira can also take advantage of sensors with built in machine learning, moving selected processing directly into the sensor. This can reduce processing and communication elsewhere in the system, improve response times and lower overall power consumption.
At the gateway, sensor fusion can combine information from multiple sensors for local analysis and decisions. More capable edge hardware can also run local language models, for example to support diagnostics or interaction with equipment data without relying on a continuous cloud connection.
In the cloud, AI can analyze data across devices and sites, identify long term trends and support planning and optimization where broader context and greater computing capacity are useful.
Kaira helps balance these capabilities across the system based on response time, power consumption, connectivity and computing requirements. This allows intelligence to be placed where it provides the most value, while keeping the overall solution efficient and practical.
Kaira connects embedded devices and gateways to cloud services that fit the customer’s solution. We can integrate with existing platforms and backends using standard interfaces such as MQTT, REST APIs and other commonly used protocols.
This allows customers to keep using their existing cloud services and technology partners without being tied to a Kaira-specific backend.
When an existing platform is not suitable or present, Ubikon can also design and deliver a tailored cloud integration or backend solution as part of the overall system.
Kaira is not a generic product that forces every customer into the same solution.
